How do I start planning a trip with Otherworldly Travel?
Begin by reaching out with a trip request form your next adventure: your destination, timing, preferences, and anything else you’d like us to know. From there, you’ll be paired with Sarah or a hand-selected curator who will design a one-of-a-kind itinerary around your vision. Once you’ve reviewed the proposal and confirmed your booking, we’ll take care of every detail — from reservations to recommendations — so you can focus on the journey ahead. During your travels, you’ll have direct access to our team and on-the-ground support whenever needed.
What kinds of trips do you create?
No two itineraries are alike. Whether you’re dreaming of a multi-country escape, a spiritual retreat, or a milestone celebration, we build end-to-end travel experiences around your rhythm and interests. Every journey includes high-touch coordination of luxury stays, guided explorations, in-destination transfers, and curated activities. We can also book international flights through our exceptional ticketing agent and partner.
How can I get the most out of working with Otherworldly Travel?
The more we know, the more we can elevate your experience. Share your tastes, your dislikes, your past travel highs (and lows). We thrive on the details. You’ll be part of a collaborative process until your itinerary feels exactly right.
Can you plan last-minute travel?
We accept select last-minute requests for departures within 10 days, pending availability. These trips require quick decisions and deep engagement from the traveler to move efficiently. A non-refundable rush fee is required to prioritize your itinerary and coordinate with our trusted global partners.
Can I book my own hotels or use points?
To ensure quality and unlock added benefits for you, we handle all hotel bookings directly. Thanks to our relationships with properties worldwide, clients often enjoy complimentary perks, upgrades, and amenities. If you use a rewards-earning credit card, your spend typically qualifies for points.
Do you plan travel for groups?
Yes, we love working with families, friends, and small groups. All group members must follow the same core itinerary (same hotels, same destinations, same activities), and the planning fee is scaled based on group size.
Can I cancel my trip?
Our cancellation policies are outlined in our Terms & Conditions and vary based on destination and trip components.
Pricing & Payment
Is there a planning fee?
Each journey we create is completely custom. Our planning fee is built into the total trip package and reflects the high level of time, insight, and coordination we dedicate to each traveler. For last-minute trips (within 30 days of departure), a non-refundable planning fee is required to begin the process depending on the destination and complexity of the trip.
What does a typical trip cost?
Prices vary depending on destination and complexity, but our trips generally begin at $1,000 per person per day. This includes luxury accommodations, private guided experiences, in-country transportation, select meals, entrance fees, and 24/7 travel support. International flights, insurance, and tipping are not included.
How do I pay?
A 40% deposit secures your trip, with the remaining balance due 90 days before departure. If your trip is within that window, full payment is required to begin booking. Certain destinations may require different payment terms, which will be clearly communicated when your custom proposal is presented.
We accept credit card payment and wire transfers. For payments above $10,000 we require wire transfers to our US bank account.
Can I see a detailed cost breakdown?
Because we work with exclusive partners who offer bundled pricing, we typically don’t provide itemized breakdowns. In some destinations, we can offer a separate line for hotel rates upon request. Our rates reflect access to exceptional local talent, off-the-radar experiences, and behind-the-scenes coordination that isn’t available to the general public.
How does Otherworldly Travel earn revenue?
Our revenue 100% comes from commissionable bookings with partners. Rather than upselling, we use these relationships to deliver greater value — from preferred rates and upgrades to insider experiences — and reinvest in developing new offerings, nurturing local partnerships, and refining our craft.
