It serves as the epicenter of the old town, surrounded by the Cathedral of Lima (St. John the Apostle and Evangelist) the Municipal Palace and Archbishop’s Palace, The Magistrate House (Casa del Oidor) and the Government Palace.
Next head to the San Francisco Catacombs before seeing Casa de Aliaga, a 500-year-old colonial mansion that has been in the Aliaga family for 17 generations. This is the oldest house on the American continent.

Day 3 | Sacred Valley
Flight to Cusco
The next day, board your early morning flight to Cusco.
Transfer to the Sacred Valley
Arrive at Cusco Airport. You will then proceed to the arrivals hall to meet your guide. From there, you will be transferred to the Sacred Valley, located at a lower altitude and helps you acclimate to the Andes. Welcome to the heart of the Inca civilization. Several sites tucked in the Sacred Valley await to be explored, from farmlands thriving with multi-colored potatoes and corn to the mystic villages of the highlands.
Pisac & Hacienda Huayoccari
For your introduction to the Sacred Valley, visit the old ruins of Pisac with their magnificent terraces and views of the mountains. Enjoy a delicious Peruvian lunch at this traditional hacienda. Ancient farmers and later the Inca state channeled the Vilcanota River and created artificial lakes to make this region ideal for agriculture. White corn —tender and rich in carbohydrates and easy to store and transport— was the specialty of the region and central to the development of the Inca Empire. The Lámbarri Orihuela family, which has owned the hacienda for more than a century, carries on this farming tradition.
Horseback Riding
Explore the depths of the Sacred Valley on horseback on Peruvian Paso horses led by an expert guide. Later, check-in to your hotel in the late afternoon for an evening at leisure.
Hacienda Urubamba | 1 Superior Deluxe Room (B, L)
Day 4 | Sacred Valley
Mountain Biking
Private transfer to a traditional Peruvian village called Cruzpata (approx. 30min away) where you begin your 2/2.5 hour mountain biking excursion to the Moray ruins with your expert biking guide. The top-of-the-line mountain bikes will be previously set to support your size and height, to be ready for use upon arrival. A bike technician will also be available to provide further support and/or modifications before and during the excursion. Along the way you will see traditional Quechua women tending their fields and the beautiful patchwork landscape. Excursion duration: 2.5 hours/ medium to strenuous; 7 to 8 miles. The terrain varies from flat to rolling hills with occasional steep inclines.
A backup vehicle driven by the bike technician with extra bikes, gear, water and snacks will be provided to offer support throughout the excursion. Should anyone in the party need to rest, they could continue on by vehicle.
Picnic
Before arrival to the Moray ruins (approx. 20 min before), stop in a secluded area off the trail to enjoy an elegant picnic lunch in the shadows of the Andes. The gourmet setup features proper table with linen, elegant silverware, personal chef and waiter.
Moray Ruins
Following lunch, depart on your bikes to finish the last leg of your biking excursion arriving at the Moray ruins where you will enjoy a private guided tour. Moray is famous for its amphitheatre-type ruins formed by circular terraces.
The purpose of these depressions is uncertain, but their depth, design, and orientation with respect to wind and sun creates a temperature difference of as much as 15 °C (27 °F) between the top and the bottom.
Maras Salt Terraces
Private transfer (approx. 40 min transfer) to Maras salt terraces for your privately guided tour. These display a spectacle of unusual beauty. Located on a wide, open hill above the Urubamba Valley, the salt water runs along channels which extend through the flooded lands and follow a more or less rectangular pattern, depending on the variations in the land. The water, which is exposed to the sun, leaves salt on the bed. Viewed from above, the myriad of rectangles look like an enormous painting designed by nature.
Pisco Sour
Head into the village of Maras for a Pisco Sour class in an exclusive private house overlooking the valley. Pisco Sour uses Peruvian pisco as the base liquor and adds Key lime (or lemon) juice, syrup, ice, egg white, and Angostura bitters to create this popular national drink. Enjoy the views of this private house as you learn about the different kinds of infusions Peruvian pisco offers.

The most impressive feature is the agricultural terracing, which sweeps around the south and east flanks of the mountain in huge and graceful curves joined by diagonal flights of stairs made of flagstones set into the terrace walls. Above the terraces are cliff-hugging footpaths, watched over by caracara falcons and well defended by massive stone doorways, steep stairs and a short tunnel carved out of the rock.
Via Ferrata & Zipline Adventure
Begin your day with an adrenaline-filled ascent along the Sacred Valley’s sheer rock faces on a Via Ferrata route; an exhilarating climb that rewards you with sweeping panoramic views of Andean peaks and patchwork fields below. Secured by harnesses and guided by expert instructors, this experience is both safe and invigorating for adventure-seekers of all levels.
