Denmark:
Copenhagen, curated
3-day luxury tour of Copenhagen
Trip Overview
Day 1 - 3 | Copenhagen | Hotel d'Angleterre | 2 nights
day 1 | Copenhagen
Before you land, watch Ordet (1955). Carl Theodor Dreyer is the director Bergman studied and Tarkovsky cited. Ordet, shot in rural Jutland and winner of the Golden Lion at Venice, is built entirely from stillness, grey light, and the geometry of domestic space. If you know Vilhelm Hammershøi's paintings, you will recognize the visual logic immediately. Denmark will look different when you land.
Arrival & Private Transfer. Greeting at the arrivals terminal and private transfer to Hotel d'Angleterre. A personal driver remains at your disposal throughout your stay in Copenhagen.
Introductory Walk. A leisurely walk along the colorful canal of Nyhavn, lined with vibrant buildings and cozy cafés. Relax in the King's Garden with views of Rosenborg Castle, or stroll through Tivoli Gardens, where classic amusement rides meet colorful lights.
Lunch at Aamanns. Aamanns Etablissement is Copenhagen's definitive address for smørrebrød, the open-faced rye bread lunch that is as central to Danish identity as any museum in the city. Chef Adam Aamann revived the tradition without turning it into nostalgia, sourcing ingredients with the same rigor you'd expect from a serious tasting menu kitchen but presenting it in a format that is relaxed, seasonal, and genuinely Danish. Michelin-recommended, not Michelin-theatrical.
Private Danish Porcelain Painting. A guided tour of Copenhagen's oldest building, dating back to 1616, followed by an introduction to Royal Copenhagen, the porcelain house founded in 1775 by Queen Juliane Marie. Refreshments are served on Royal Copenhagen porcelain in a private setting before a painting workshop where you create your own blue fluted piece under the guidance of an expert painter. Your piece is fired, glazed and shipped to you within weeks.
Dinner at Baest. Hand-stretched cheeses, charcuterie made from Denmark's finest pork, and wood-fired pizza recognized among the best in Europe. Ask for the homemade lemonade.
day 2 | Copenhagen
A day of neighborhoods, artists and one of Scandinavia's great museums.
Private Biking Tour of Vesterbro. For many years, Vesterbro was the rough neighborhood of Copenhagen. Today it is the trendiest and most creative district in the city, a place where cafés and fashion boutiques constantly pop up, especially at the western end of Istedgade and around Enghaveplads. The route takes in shops, cafés, streets and venues chosen by people who have lived here themselves.
Breakfast at Ø.12. The kind of coffee stop that earns its place on a Copenhagen morning: serious about sourcing, low on pretension, and best arrived at by bike.
Private Visit to Sophie Klerk's Studio. Sophie Klerk is a Danish collage artist who has lived and worked in the Netherlands, England, Mexico and New Zealand, all part of shaping her minimalist and expressive style. Her work explores the interaction between papers, colors, textures, thread, paint and photography, and is held in private collections worldwide.
Lunch at ØsterGRO. Up a spiral staircase to the rooftop of an old car auction house, ØsterGRO was founded in 2014 as Copenhagen's first community rooftop farm. One of the few places in the city where you can see a working farm in action, and eat what it grows.
Private Access to ARKEN. ARKEN sits on an artificial island in Køge Bay like a ship that ran aground and decided to stay. Designed by Søren Robert Lund and inaugurated in 1996, it is one of the most significant works of deconstructivist architecture in Scandinavia. The collection holds over 400 works of Danish, Scandinavian and international post-war art, and the Asger Jorn gallery alone warrants the drive. You have the museum to yourselves, with a private curator-led visit.
Dinner at Schønnemann. Copenhagen's smørrebrød institution has been serving the open-faced sandwich since 1877, with a presentation so delicate it resembles sushi.
day 3 | Copenhagen
A final morning on the most interesting street in Copenhagen.
Jægersborggade, Nørrebro. A single short street that has become the most concentrated expression of what Copenhagen actually makes: 40-odd independent shops, studios and cafés you can walk end to end in ten minutes. Start at Meyers Bageri, opened by New Nordic pioneer Claus Meyer before the movement had a name. Order something with rye. Continue to Inge Vincent's ceramics studio for paper-thin porcelain only available in-store, then Design Kollektivet, where independent Danish designers sell glass, textiles and objects side by side. Across the street, Ladyfingers is run by six Danish jewelry designers selling handmade pieces.
Coffee at The Coffee Collective. Founded by World Barista Champion Klaus Thomsen. The Jægersborggade location is the original and the most relaxed of their outposts.
Airport Transfer. Private transfer to Copenhagen Airport for your onward flight.
