About Aigana Gali
Journey Co-Creator
Born in Almaty at the ancient crossroads of the Great Silk Road, Aigana Gali draws deeply from her Kazakh heritage and the spiritual, cultural, and natural landscapes of the Eurasian Steppe. Rooted in the ancestral cosmology of Tengri, the ancient sky-centered belief system of the nomadic степpe, her work channels the symbolism of petroglyphs, elemental color, and the eternal dialogue between sky and earth. Through series such as Creation Myth, Steppe, and Light Works, she translates Kazakh cave imagery, nomadic spirituality, and the vast openness of her homeland into meditative fields of color and geometric form. Her practice, often using her own body as a tool, reflects Tengri’s philosophy of unity with nature, where blue and green evoke the divine sky and yellow and earth tones embody the maternal ground. Across canvas, textile, and film, Aigana’s art becomes a contemporary continuation of Kazakh visual and spiritual traditions, transforming ancestral memory into a universal language of light, movement, and transcendence.

Into the Tien Shan Mountains
