Day 2: Singapore

Arrival & Private Transfer

Flight arrival at Singapore from Seattle. You will be greeted at the arrivals terminal and transferred in private to your hotel.

The Warehouse Hotel

The Warehouse Hotel is a converted 19th century spice warehouse on the Singapore River in Robertson Quay. A private transfer meets you on arrival and takes you straight to the hotel, so the first hours in the city are spent unpacking and settling in rather than navigating logistics. The property blends its industrial architecture with a contemporary design sensibility, giving guests a base that feels distinctly local rather than generic.

Dinner at Pó

Enjoy dinner at your hotel’s famous Pó this evening. The name honors Popo, the Chinese word for grandmother, and the restaurant is built as a tribute to the flavors that shaped its founders. Drawing on Singapore's multicultural heritage, the menu is grounded in recipes passed down through generations, prepared from scratch with locally sourced ingredients and time honored techniques. Each dish carries forward that sense of tradition, offering guests a taste that feels like home.

YOUR STAY: The Warehouse | River View Room

Day 3: Singapore

Peranakan Tour

9:30am: Spend the morning immersed in the layered heritage of Singapore's Straits Chinese community, tracing the evolution of Peranakan culture through the streets of Katong and Joo Chiat, where pastel shophouses adorned with intricate tilework and ornate carvings reveal a fusion of Chinese, Malay, and European influences unique to this region. Guided by a local guide, discover how the Peranakans, descendants of early Chinese immigrants who settled in the Straits Settlements and intermarried with local Malay communities, developed a distinct identity expressed through their architecture, cuisine, language, and customs. Step inside beautifully preserved shophouses and heritage homes to see intricate beadwork, hand painted porcelain, and antique furniture that reflect the opulence of Peranakan households in their prime, while learning about the social rituals, wedding traditions, and matriarchal customs that defined this community.

Leisure

Have some time at leisure to rest in the afternoon and enjoy lunch at your hotel or nearby.

Guided Hawker Tour

Later this evening, wander through the bustling hawker centers of Chinatown on a guided tasting tour that captures the essence of Singaporean food culture at its most authentic. Led by a knowledgeable local guide, move between generations old stalls and newer favorites, sampling dishes that range from Hainanese chicken rice and char kway teow to bak kut teh and chili crab, each stop paired with context on the origins, techniques, and family histories behind the food. Learn how hawker culture, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, grew out of street vendors who once sold food from carts before being consolidated into the open air centers that now serve as the social and culinary heart of the city. The tour offers a chance to taste the diversity of Singapore's multicultural roots, with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Peranakan influences all represented within a single evening, while the guide's insight into stall traditions and vendor stories adds depth beyond what a casual visit could offer on its own.

Day 4: Singapore

Singapore: Peranakan Heritage & Hawker Culture

Start the morning in Joo Chiat with a private guide, walking past the pastel Peranakan shophouses of Koon Seng Road and stopping at Kim Choo Kueh Chang, a family business making rice dumplings and nyonya kueh by hand for three generations, where you'll try your hand at beading or wrapping alongside the artisans. Continue to the Peranakan Museum on Armenian Street to understand the Straits Chinese culture behind the architecture, from wedding rituals to embroidered kebaya and porcelain made for nyonya households. After lunch, cross into Kampong Glam to see the gold domes of Sultan Mosque and the textile and perfume shops of Arab Street, then on to Chinatown's Thian Hock Keng, Singapore's oldest Hokkien temple, built without a single nail. As the evening cools, your guide leads a hawker food trail through Singapore's hawker centres, recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2020, tasting chicken rice, laksa and satay at stalls that have perfected one dish over decades.

Walk along the Singapore River to the Alkaff Bridge, painted in bright colors by artist Pacita Abad and shaped after a traditional tongkang boat, or wander through New Bahru, a creative lifestyle hub set inside a restored former school that brings together local fashion, food, and design. Fort Canning Park sits nearby with colonial landmarks, walking trails, and the Battlebox, a former World War II command bunker open for exploration. Stop into one of the riverside cafes for a slow start, while art enthusiasts may prefer STPI, a gallery and creative workshop set inside a restored warehouse known for its printmaking and papermaking exhibitions.

The 105 rooms and suites are joined by ten private Bensley Pool Villas for a more elevated stay, while on site guests find the Khmer Tonics Spa, the Outsider Gallery, and Kroya, a restaurant serving time honored Khmer recipes alongside modern reinterpretations. Day 6 & 7: Siem Reap

Angkor Wat and Temple of the Forests

A sunrise tour beginning at pre dawn to watch the sun rise behind the lotus towers of Angkor Wat, built over 30 years under King Suryavarman II (AD 1113) and by some measures the largest religious complex in the world. Originally a Hindu mountain temple, it was converted around the 16th century to a Theravada Buddhist monument, a role it still serves today.

Continue by road to Ta Prohm, 11 km away, pausing for entry passes at the Archaeological Park entrance. Walk through the temple from the west entrance to the east entrance to meet your driver, a walk of 1 to 2 km, pausing for a light breakfast along the way. End the morning at Angkor Wat via the less frequented eastern causeway, exploring the central complex and its detailed bas reliefs depicting Hindu mythology and ancient battles.

HeroRATs

Visit APOPO's Visitor Center in Siem Reap for a guided tour of their landmine detection program, where African giant pouched rats known as HeroRATs are trained to sniff out landmines and unexploded ordnance across Cambodia. See a live detection demonstration and the chance to hold a HeroRAT yourself, alongside insight into Cambodia's landmine history and clearance efforts.

Beng Mealea, Banteay Srei, and Banteay Samre Temples

In the morning, drive to the remote temple of Beng Mealea, often called the blueprint for Angkor Wat. Built under Suryavarman II, this 12th century temple is overgrown with roots and vines and largely collapsed, with an atmospheric feel. Walk through darkened doorways, past crumbling pillars, and along promenades lined with naga balustrades, exploring the less visited courtyards.

Travel through villages and rice paddies to Banteay Srei (AD 967), around 37 km from Siem Reap, a pink sandstone temple known for its intricate carvings and excellent state of preservation. On the way back, visit Banteay Samre, built in a style similar to Angkor Wat, with an old causeway lined with stone lions and naga balustrades.

Private Transfer to Shinta Mani Wild

11:00am: The journey begins with a scenic transfer from Phnom Penh into the Cardamom Mountains, one of Southeast Asia's last untouched wildernesses. Private transfer (approx. 2 hours) through the countryside before transferring to the camp itself, arriving at a suspended tented camp perched above the Sanka River. The remoteness is part of the experience, and the arrival marks a clear shift from the pace of the city into a slower, jungle bound rhythm.

Included Activities

Once at camp, the three nights unfold around a full slate of included activities designed around the rainforest setting. Guests can join anti poaching patrols with the Wildlife Alliance rangers, swim beneath waterfalls, ride ATVs and mountain bikes through the jungle trails, kayak the river, or take a zip line flight across the canopy that ends with a bartender waiting at the landing platform to mix a drink. Every activity is led by camp guides and can be adjusted to pace and interest, so days can be as active or as relaxed as guests prefer.

Included Meals

Meals and drinks are fully included throughout the stay, served in settings that shift with the mood of the day, from riverside dinners to open air breakfasts overlooking the forest canopy. The camp's tented suites each include a private plunge pool, and the all inclusive structure covers not just meals but also laundry, most excursions, and the conservation fee that funds the Wildlife Alliance's protection of the surrounding forest, so guests can move through the three days without needing to think about logistics or add ons.
