Costa Rica, In Full

PURA VIDA, TAKEN SERIOUSLY

Costa Rica built its entire identity around a phrase, pura vida, pure life, and then actually organized a country around it. More than a quarter of the land is protected, a rare commitment that turned conservation into the main event rather than an afterthought. Cloud forests hold howler monkeys and resplendent quetzals in the mist. Active volcanoes steam over dense jungle. Two coastlines, Pacific and Caribbean, sit close enough to visit both in a single trip, each with its own rhythm entirely. This is one of the few countries where the eco-conscious version of a trip and the genuinely luxurious version turn out to be the exact same itinerary.

Where to go in
costa rica

Monteverde Cloud Forest

Suspended walkways thread through mist-covered canopy, home to the resplendent quetzal and one of the most biodiverse reserves in Central America, cool, damp, and genuinely otherworldly.

Manuel Antonio

Rainforest meets Pacific coastline directly here, sloths and monkeys visible from beachfront trails, one of the few places in the world where jungle and beach genuinely overlap.

Arenal

An active volcano ringed by natural hot springs and dense rainforest, one of Costa Rica's most photographed landscapes and a natural base for waterfall hikes and canopy tours.

Guanacaste

Costa Rica's drier northwest coast, known for its beaches, reliable surf breaks, and the country's most developed upscale resort corridor.
