EUNOIA CHAPTER IV
ARCTIC CIRCLE RETREAT
16 - 20 November, 2026Do I need a Visa to travel to Norway?
You are responsible for checking your visa requirements for Norway. It depends on your nationality. Whoever is traveling should confirm their specific nationality against the current exemption list before booking, since policies can change and getting it wrong can mean being turned back at the airport. Here’s a good tool to find out of your need a visa for your trip.
Where do I fly into?
Tromso Airport (TOS) is where we have your airport transfers included on the first and last day of the retreat. Please book your flights in and out of here.
What time should I arrive in Tromso?
Please meet us in the hotel lobby of Scandic Ishavshotel at 3:00pm on November 16th. Our transfer to the lodge will depart from the hotel at 3:30pm. As we’ll be traveling to a remote area, it is not easy to reach the retreat location independently if you miss our transfer. We therefore strongly recommend arriving in Tromsø the day before and staying at a hotel on the night of 15th November.
What time should my flight leave Tromso on the last day?
On November 20th, our transfer will leave the lodge at 9:45am, arriving in Tromsø shortly before 2:00pm. To allow plenty of time for your onward journey, make sure you book a departure flight after 4:00pm. If you are staying in Tromsø for longer, our transfer will also make a stop in the city centre.
If I stay in Tromso longer, do you provide the airport transfer?
The transfer we arrange for you is on 20 November, the retreat's official end date. If you extend your stay beyond that, you will need to arrange your own airport transfer for your later departure.
What’s the weather like?
Expect daytime highs around 34 to 37°F (1 to 3°C) and overnight lows near 27°F (minus 3°C), with mostly cloudy skies and snow or sleet on about half the days. Tromsø averages around 14 days of precipitation in November. Daylight is short, with the sun above the horizon for roughly two hours around midday, and polar night begins in Tromsø in late November. Coastal wind can make temperatures feel colder, and long hours of darkness make this a fantastic week for northern lights viewing, providing skies are clear.
What should I pack?
Norway will be cold, so packing warm layers is essential. We recommend bringing:
2–3 thermal, moisture-wicking long-sleeved tops
2 pairs of thermal leggings
2 warm sweaters
1 waterproof, insulated jacket
1–2 pairs of waterproof, insulated trousers
Waterproof gloves
A warm hat and scarf
2–3 pairs of long wool socks
Warm, waterproof boots
Boots and all-in-one overall suits in all sizes will be provided for our activities. We recommend wearing thermal layers underneath to stay warm and comfortable when spending time outdoors.
I have dietary restrictions, is that ok?
Yes, absolutely. Please ensure you fill out your guest form ASAP so we are aware of your dietary requirements in advance. The lodge is remote so will need time to prepare.
Can I drink or order alcohol on the retreat?
The consumption of alcohol is not allowed on Eunoia retreats.
Will Sarah be there?
Yes, Sarah Casewit is your host for this retreat and will be staying at the lodge together with Liberty Barrons.
Do I need cash?
All food on the retreat is included, and we are staying in a remote area with no shops nearby. The only cash you need is for tips, if you plan to leave any for the lodge or guides. Please exchange NOK before arriving in Norway, or use the ATM at the airport.
Are all the meals included in this retreat?
All meals at the lodge are included: four breakfast buffets, four three-course dinners, three lunches and afternoon coffees and teas. Our first meal together is dinner on our first night. Lunch on November 16 and November 20 will be at your own leisure in Tromso or at the airport.
Are the beds twin or queen?
Most of the rooms in Norway are traditional designs, limiting twin bed set ups. There will be rooms where ladies need to share a bed or have an extra bed in the room.
Will we have a more detailed itinerary soon?
Yes, a detailed itinerary will be shared before the retreat.
Is there a spa or wellness area?
Yes! We will enjoy the outdoor jacuzzi and sauna in our leisure time. There is also the option to book massage services at an extra cost.
Do I need to contribute something to the retreat?
We have so much to share as individuals and such powerful stories, skills, experiences to share. If you would like to lead a 30 minute session, we would love to experience this with you, though please note this is not mandatory. This can be a talk, a workshop, a yoga class, something creative, a group nap, a dance session or anything else you would like to share. If it's a session that requires material, please note that you'll be required to prepare and supply these materials so keep this in mind. We can help if this is requested, but for example 12 yoga mats are not guaranteed. To confirm your contribution, please send Liberty an email.
What does Eunoia mean?
Eunoia (pronounced yoo-noy-uh) is Greek for "beautiful thinking”, capturing the essence of harmony and synergy while invoking a sense of empowerment and unity among women.
Can I cancel my spot?
Our cancellation policies are outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
