Tradition & Design

PALACES, MOUNTAINS, CREATIVE CITIES

South Korea moves fluidly between centuries. Seoul layers glass towers over Joseon-era palaces, its design and food scenes evolving by the month. Gyeongju, once the capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom, holds more royal tombs and temples per square mile than almost anywhere else in Asia. Jeju closes the loop entirely, volcanic coastline, waterfalls, and a slower island pace that feels worlds away from the mainland. This is a contemporary cultural journey built on genuinely old foundations.

Where to go in
SOUTH KOREA

Seoul

A city in constant motion, Gyeongbokgung Palace and its changing-of-the-guard ceremony sit a short walk from Gangnam's design galleries and Hongdae's youth-driven nightlife, tradition and reinvention operating side by side.

Jeju Island

A volcanic island off the southern coast, Jeju trades palace architecture for waterfalls, lava tube caves, and Hallasan, South Korea's tallest peak, along with a noticeably slower, more coastal rhythm than the mainland.

Gyeongju

Once the capital of the thousand-year Silla Kingdom, Gyeongju holds an extraordinary concentration of royal tombs, ancient observatories, and Buddhist temples, often called "the museum without walls" for how much history sits directly in the open.

Busan

South Korea's second city and a natural add-on, a working port city with sweeping beaches, mountain temples, and one of the country's best food scenes, particularly for seafood.
